1908 Full Portrait

This picture had a major bend that obliterated parts of the mouth and including the moustache, and under the entire lip. There were also many small spots on the background and border. The following was done to restore the  picture:

  • Reconstructed portions of mouth, lip, face, and moustache
  • Removed stains and spots
  • Improved contrast
  • Smoothed out facial features
  • Sharpened image
  • Replaced background

Three Generations

This photograph was taken around 1945 and has experienced significant fading around the top border and the lower left corner. To restore it the following actions were taken:

  • Removed numerous cracks and stains
  • Added hair where missing
  • Repaired stone and house fonts
  • Restored black, white and gray levels
  • Sharpened images
  • Increased brightness and contrast

1928 Family Portrait

This 1928 family portrait was torn into two pieces and then taped together.  The child's face was out of focus. We fixed this photograph by:

  • Repaired areas covered with tape including the pants legs, socks, shoes, and rug
  • Brought the child 's face into focus
  • Adjusted brightened and contrast

Family Portrait

This early 1900's picture was moderately faded, underexposed, and coarse.  To repair this photograph we took the following steps:

  • Removed numerous cracks and stains
  • Added hair where severely faded
  • Repaired stone and house front
  • Adjusted black, white and gray levels
  • Sharpened image

The only Photograph of her Parents

This was the only photograph our Client had of her Mother and Father, and was her most precious photograph. For the restoration we performed the following:

  • Repair damaged facial features
  • Removed cracks
  • Removed fading
  • Enlarged
  • Slightly sharpened

Old Baby Portrait

This photograph has significantly faded and contains a number of creases and cracks. It also lacks clarity. The following restoration steps were taken:

  • Repaired the cracks throughout the photograph.
  • Built up the detail by multiplicative layering.
  • Boosted highlights, midtones and shadows
  • Increased the sharpness.
  • Added a sepia (brownish) tint to the photograph.
